One of the unknown yet interesting places we can see if you decend in gurgaon is Gol Bavdi.
Since i was a child i was fond of Monument’s and the History behind it because my mother use to tell me each story as my bed time stories
And when , while exploring gurgaon i came by the historic site Gol Bavdi in Farukhnagar , jhajjar road Gurugram.

18th Century AD
An old bavdi was built by Ghaus Ali shah , a local chief during the reign of Mughal emperor Farrukh Siyar .
It is said that the Rani’s ( Emperor’s wife) would come her to take a bath from Sheesh Mahal ( The palace of Nawab of Farukhnagar ) to Gol bavdi and use to get water from the stip-well situated at the middle of the bavdi.

Built out of stone, lime plaster and bricks , the baoli has been given the ressemblance of the Turkish hammam .

The water tank in the center is surrounded by a verandah with well-framed arches on all sides . There are also chambers for relaxation and recreation on the upper storeys.
While walking around , there was an old machine which i found out is used to make the mixture of the bricks to give a maintenance check every now and then.

Gurgaon being a industrial area yet cyber hub for millenials ,it is not known for its archive monuments .
Gol bavdi is the finest monument for students practicing photography as well as the couple’s who prefer to go to Hauz – Khas village for pre-wedding shots can use this place for one of the spots for Pre-wedding .
Visiting late morning in the winters and late evenings in the summers is recommended .
